Scott Hamilton Thornton Sr., 56, of Patterson, passed away early Monday morning, January 8, 2024, at his residence.
Born in Waycross July 6, 1967, he lived in Pierce County all his life. He was a trim saw operator for Coastal Vinyl an Truss. He loved the ocean, deep sea fishing, as well as freshwater fishing. He also loved sports, watching movies, and just riding the roads. He was a good friend who would help anyone in need and give you the shirt off of his back.
He was a son of the late Robert Donald Sr. and Annette Kimbrell Thornton. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robbie Thornton.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Dylan Hill, Jesup; two sons, Scott Thornton Jr., Jesup and Ryan Shumaker of Texas; two brothers, DeWayne (Jamie) Crisp, Patterson and Timmy Crisp, Mt. Pleasant, SC; a sister-in-law, Brenda Thornton, Patterson; a special friend and her daughter, Wanda Holloway and Gina Holloway, both of Patterson; three grandchildren including Matthew Allen and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
