Carolyn L. King Albritton, 88, of Waycross, died Friday morning, March 1, 2024, at her residence, after a brief illness.
She was born in Pierce County to the late Earnest King and Ethel Bennett King and made Waycross her home for most of her life. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when she was needed. She sadly missed her beloved sons, William and Marshall and was saddened by the sudden loss of her son-in-law, Danny. She was a devoted member of Woodard Chapel Congregational Methodist Church for more than 50 years where she raised her five children. She was also a devout prayer warrior.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Albritton Sr.; two sons, William Henry Albritton Jr., Marshall Howard Albritton; a son-in-law, Danny McCook; eight siblings, Claude Lester King, Bobby King, R.D. King, Steve King, Peggy Ogelsby, Earnestine Chauncey, Charlie King and Jeanette King.
Survivors include three children, Carol S. Albritton Robles and her husband Silver, Flatonia, TX and Brenda Albritton McCook and Harold Albritton, both of Waycross; five grandchildren, Consuelo Davis Cunningham, Les Davis, Matthew Albritton and his wife Samantha, Eric Albritton and his wife Marilyn and Ashley Albritton; five great-grandchildren, Cannan Cunningham, Colleen Cunningham, Hendrix Albritton, Liam Albritton and Spencer Albritton; a daughter-in-law Linda Albritton, Waycross; four siblings, Ann Chancelor, Patterson, Mae Raulerson and her husband Gerald, Jacksonville, FL, Larry King and his wife Linda, Prattville, AL and Philip King, Patterson and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 6, at Laura Chapel Cemetery near Patterson.
