Jesse Eugene “Speed Buggy” Williamson, 61, of Patterson, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 28, 2024, at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System in Savannah, after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Blackshear March 17, 1963, he lived in Pierce County all of his life. His early career was carpentry with his father and brother but from there he moved into logging for a time. He would finish his working career as a machinist for CSX Transportation. He enjoyed being outdoors and keeping busy. He also loved to spend time with his friends and family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
He was a son of the late James Williamson and Jean Davis Williamson. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lindsey Braddy; a sister, Penny Williamson Bryant and his brother, Jack Williamson.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Melisa Cason Williamson, Patterson; two daughters, Jessica (Richie) Herrin, Blackshear and Shannon Griffin, Patterson; his sister, Ann Grimes, Waycross; 13 grandchildren, Jack (Ciara) Golub, Brodie Griner, Carter Johnson, Brody Griffin, Maddison Herrin, Mason Braddy, Ben Griffin, Jesse Lynn Herrin, Justice Herrin, Logan Braddy, Brylie Braddy, Jenna Bennett and James Bennett; a great-grandchild, Mallory Golub (“Little Rosie”) and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Griner and the Rev. Tim Hall officiating.
Interment will be in the Patterson Cemetery.
