Geneva Murphy, 86, died Thursday morning, March 7, 2024, at Baptist Village Retirement Communities after an extended illness.
She was born February 9, 1938 in Pierce County to the late Rubin “Bill” Crawford and Lessie Harper Crawford. Shegraduated from Patterson High School in 1956, and married her husband of 49 years, Herman Junior Murphy. She retired from R. L. Walker Chevrolet and she was a member of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Herman Junior Murphy; sibilngs, Artha “Sister” Strickland, Valree “Scrap” Walker, Lonzie Crawford, Gene Crawford, Carl Crawford, Hazel Cabler and Jay Crawford.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Todd (Greg), Waycross; two grandchildren, Morgan Todd Reagan (Justin) and Patrick Todd, both of Waycross; great-granddaughter, Maddie Murphy Reagan; one sister, Tonnie Carr (Herbert), Blackshear; a brother-in-law, Cecil Cabler and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 11, at the funeral home.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, from the Laura Chapel Cemetery in Pierce County.
