Gertrude Julie Hendrix Williams, 91, of Blackshear, passed away early Sunday morning, March 24, 2024, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.
Born in Hoboken June 18, 1932, she lived in Pierce County since 1968. She retired from JC Penney in 1989 after 19 years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church – Blackshear.
She was a daughter of the late John and Julie Altman Hendrix. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leaston Williams; two great-grandchildren, Tish Ammons and Patia Williams; her sister, Mae Justice and her brother, Johnnie Hendrix.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Terry Kenney, Blackshear; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Harriett Williams, Blackshear and Dennis and Roni Williams, Orange Park, FL; four grandchildren, Todd Ammons, Caitlyn (Mark) West, Scott (Azuree) Williams and Stacy Williams; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bill Young and the Rev. Dr. Justin Gambrell officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Ware County.
