Margaret Elaine Barnes Bargeron, 71, of Blackshear, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Born in Blackshear August 16, 1951, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. She was a 1969 graduate of Patterson High School and obtained her accounting degree from Waycross/Ware Technical College. She was a retired bookkeeper as well as a retired farmer for which she did with her late husband, Clinton Roy “Clint” Bargeron Sr. Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandbabies but she did find time to enjoy some fishing every now and then. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Thomas Ruffin Barnes and Evelyn Johnson Barnes Cason. In addition to her late husband, Clint, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Barnes Brinkley and two brothers, Jamie Barnes and Joe Barnes.
Survivors include five children, Thamantha Barnes (fiance’, Charles Roberts), Norman Park, Margaret Ann “Margie” (Darin) Jennings, Joseph Lawton “Joe” (Penny) Youmans, Cynthia Todd and Roy Bargeron Jr., all of Blackshear; three sisters, Peggy Dover, Screven, Gloria Rapier, Waycross and Anita (Joe) Gardner, Screven; two brothers, Rusty (Gail) Barnes, Jesup and Billy (Tina) Barnes of South Carolina; a special sister, Karen Barnes, Jesup; her best friend, Navonia Bargeron, Blackshear; nine grandchildren, Tommy Youmans (Molly Davis), Layne Jennings, Richard Jennings, Paul Jennings, Dalen Barnes, Brice Massey, Brandon Massey, Crystal Todd and Christopher (Karissa) Todd; two great- grandchildren, Matthew Todd and Madi Todd and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel with the Rev. Richard Golden officiating.
Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.
Chris Ryals, Justin Roberts, and Brian Owens are kindly asked to serve as honorary pallbearers. They are asked to please meet at the funeral home chapel by 10:30 a.m Thursday.
