Maria Elizabeth ‘Lisa’ Hicks Fleshman

Maria Elizabeth “Lisa” Hicks Fleshman, 54, of Blackshear, passed away suddenly Monday evening, July 1, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Born in Corpus Christi, TX on August 29, 1969, she had lived in Pierce County for the last 20 years. She had worked for Wal-Mart for 27 years and was currently a receiving manager for them.  She loved traveling and being around people.  A faithful military wife, she was a good-hearted woman with the purest soul. She loved the Lord and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.  

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Hicks and a son, Josh Hicks.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Jim Fleshman, Blackshear; three daughters, Amber Vandall of Ohio, Jessica Fears-Fleshman, Dallas, TX and Haley Bliton, Patterson; two sons, James P. (Brianna) Fleshman II, Dayton, TX and Christian Fleshman. Waycross; her father, Jerry Hicks, Patterson; her sister, Billie Jo (Pete) Forasiepi, Hitchcock, TX;  seven grandchildren, Angel Amrine, Summer Amrine, Izabella Amrine, Kaden Bliton, Aisley Fleshman, Ransom Conner, Asher Fleshman and an eighth one on the way; her canine children, Vinny, Brooklynn, Lilly, Cooper and Brutus and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday, July 8, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Stone officiating.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
