Maynard Leonard Benner

Maynard Leonard Benner, 85, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 30, 2024, at his residence, following an extended illness.

Born February 26, 1939, in Nobleboro, Maine, he was a son of the late Henry and Linda Creamer Benner.  He lived most of his life in Maine and California before moving to Pierce County in 2010. He was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Marines from 1956-1959 and was retired from Kraft Foods.

He was a member of Countryside Baptist Church in Waycross and had attended the Adult Sunday School Class.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Gloria Ann Wilson Benner; a son-in-law, Kevin Adams and his brother, Edward Benner.

Survivors include his four daughters, Phyllis Walker (husband Bob) of Kansas, Linda Bombard (husband David), Blackshear, Terri Adams of California, and Bonnie Sukeforth (husband Bruce) of Maine; 12 grandchildren, Sabrina, Bobby, David, Jessica, David, Joshua, Corinne, Camille, Carolynn, Andrea, Michelle and Zachary; 17 great -grandchildren, Londyn, Allie, Avilynn, Jaxen, Titus, Kole, Annabelle, Molli, Katelyn, Logan, Chase, Londyn, Saige, Kade, Ainzley, Emersyn and Barrett; sister, Marie Bell,  Chelsea, ME and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, from the  Countryside Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Stanley officiating.
