Jerry Russell Roberson Sr., 79, of Patterson, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 26, 2023, at Memorial satilla Health in Waycross. following an extended illness.
Born December 18, 1944 in Screven, he was a son of the late Allen Russell Roberson Sr. and Ethel Brown Roberson. He lived most of his life in Wayne and Pierce Counties and was a 1962 graduate of Patterson High School. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force and retired as a millwright from Interstate Paper in Riceboro. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Siple Roberson; son, Jerry Russell “Robbie” Roberson Jr.; a great-grandson, Will Foreman and a brother-in-law, Cecil Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Faye Patterson Roberson; four children, Sheri McCarthy (husband Herman), Waycross, Donnie Roberson (wife Libby), Sheila Roberson and Cindy Cason (husband Scott), all of Patterson; five grandchildren, Ciara Kern (husband Joel), Folkston, Matthew Roberson (wife Mallory), Patterson, Erin Foreman (husband Justin), Blackshear, Brooke Strickland (husband Hunter), Patterson and Jamie Cason, Baxley; five great-grandchildren, Joelie Kern, Maggie Kern, Kellie Kern, Jud Foreman and Grey Foreman; three siblings, Gary “Eddie” Roberson (wife Vicki), Vidalia, Cheryl Johnson, Patterson, and Russ Roberson (wife Debbie), Offerman; special companion, Rock and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Offerman Cemetery.
