Robert Edward “Bobby” Douberly Jr.

Robert Edward “Bobby” Douberly Jr., 64, of Nahunta, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at his residence.

Born in Blackshear May 25, 1958, he had lived in Pierce and Brantley Counties all his life. He had served in the U.S. Navy for eight years prior to going to work in the trucking business where he was the owner/operator of Douberly Trucking. He enjoyed playing pool and hanging out with his friends especially at the river. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved his family and made a point to give his mama a kiss every time he saw her. He was known for always lending a helping hand where needed. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a son of the late Robert Edward Douberly Sr.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Leisa Ann Moore Douberly.

Survivors include his children, Michelle Douberly, Patterson, Leisa Lynette Moore, Brandy Moody, Kevin Douberly and Emory Lee Moore, all of Brantley County, and JR. Moody, Patterson; his mother, Sarah Eunice Johnson Douberly, Blackshear; his sister, Barbara Ann O’Banion, Patterson; his three brothers, Jerry (Ellen) Douberly, Blackshear, Doyle (Donna) Douberly, Patterson, and Jason Douberly, Blackshear; five grandchildren, Cameron Douberly, Kyler Douberly, Faith Douberly, Bailey Parkinson and Teagan Douberly and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Mill Creek Cemetery in Pierce County.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, from the Mill Creek Cemetery.
