Michelle Lee is the new deputy fire chief and deputy Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director for Pierce County.
Lee was hired at the monthly county commission meeting Feb. 7. The hire came following a 30 minute closed session to discuss personnel. The deputy fire chief/deputy EMA position was reportedly discussed as part of the personnel discussion during the closed session.
Lee currently serves as the EMA director in neighboring Brantley County. She has served full time in the role since 2021. She has been involved with EMA since 2004 and received her certification in 2006. She works part-time as an intermediate emergency medical technician (EMT-I), is a volunteer firefighter with Nahunta Volunteer Fire Department, a certified public safety diver and currently serves as Brantley County’s deputy coroner.
Lee will succeed former deputy fire chief and EMA director Chuck Yeargin. Yeargin was promoted to county clerk last year.
