Margaret Dan’L Peacock Hyers

Margaret Dan’L Peacock Hyers, 84, of Pierce County, passed away Wednesday morning, February 22, 2023, at her residence.

Born in Blackshear April 27, 1938, she lived in Pierce County all her life. She was a 1955 graduate of Blackshear High School and was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker who took pride in being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family as well as her church family, Beulah Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member. She shared Jesus and His love by teaching Sunday School at Beulah Baptist Church most of her adult life. She had a great faith that was an inspiration to many.

She was a daughter of the late Hubert Daniel and Martha Mattie Smith Peacock. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Hyers and a sister, Vera Coleman.

Survivors include her daughter, Beth Hyers Scott, Fernandina Beach, FL; her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Bethany Hyers, Blackshear; her sister, Diane Raulerson, Patterson; her brother, Joe Peacock, Blackshear; four grandchildren, Logan (Hannah) Scott, Landon Scott (Baylee Starling), Cheston (Lauren) Hyers, and James David Hyers; five great grandchildren, Scarlett Scott, Axton Scott, Aspen Scott, Grayson Hyers and Grant Hyers and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Beulah Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, from the Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Tuttle and the Rev. Earl Tillman officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Logan Scott, Landon Scott, Cheston Hyers, James David Hyers, Tommy Peacock, Russell Raulerson and Tyler Peacock.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Blackshear High School Class of 1955 as well as the members of the Ladies Sunday school class.  They are asked to please meet at the church by 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
