Oralee Dean Allday Smith

Oralee Dean Allday Smith, 77, of Blackshear, passed away early Sunday afternoon, February 5, 2023, at her daughter’s residence in Screven.

Born in Blackshear October 9, 1945, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. She was retired from the Pierce County Board of Education where she had worked in the lunchrooms at Pierce County Middle School and Midway Elementary School. She was dearly loved her family and her church family – New Life Assembly of God.    

She was a daughter of the late Elbert and Lowell Isbeth Harris Dean. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Edgar “Bo” Allday; a sister, Mary Lee Payne and three brothers, Gene Dean, Ricky Dean and Dub Dean.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Smith, Blackshear; her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Steve Boyett, Screven; a special daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Marie and Irving Smith, Blackshear; a step-daughter, Melanda Smith, Hilliard, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jean Allday and Wesley and Tammy Allday, all of Blackshear; two step-sons, Danny (Kim) Smith, Jacksonville, FL and Bryan (Christine) Smith, Hilliard, FL; a sister, Donnie Mae (Danny) Sirmons, Blackshear; three brothers, Cecil (Linda) Dean, Waycross and Johnny (Carol) Dean and Wayne ((Diane) Dean, all of Blackshear; two sisters-in-law, Diane Dean, Waycross and Sandra Dean Royals, Blackshear; 11 grandchildren, Jeffery (Jessie) Boyett, Colt Rainey, Austin (Amanda) Allday, Blake (Bridgett) Allday, Robyn (Blake) Thorne, Kevin (Catrina) Allday, Tyler (Taylor) Smith, Colby (Christy) Smith, Mike (Stephanie) Wiley, Taylor Wiley (Dalton Wasden) and Tucker (Jaylin) Wiley; three step-grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, from the New Life Assembly of God with the Rev. Andy Peacock and Bro. Blake Thorne officiating.  

Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jeffery Boyett, Colt Rainey, Kevin Allday, Blake Allday, Tyler Smith, Colby Smith and Tucker Wiley.
