Conrad Thornton

Conrad Thornton, 92, of Patterson, passed away Monday afternoon, February 27, 2023, at his residence following an extended illness.

Born April 9, 1930 in Waycross, he was the only child of the late Eustace and Annie Sweat Thornton. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force and lived many years in Waycross where he worked in real estate, building and selling houses. He moved to Patterson in 2010 and had worked alongside his wife operating Otter Creek Restaurant.

He was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Waycross.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Carolyn Byrd Thornton and his daughter, Kathy Thornton Callahan.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Harris Thornton, Patterson; three sons, K.C. Thornton (wife Dana), Fernandina Beach, FL, Calvin Thornton, Hoboken and Danny Thornton of Georgia; two step-children, Alisa O’Steen (husband Kevin), Patterson and Harris Selph (wife Ellen), Hoboken; nine grandchildren, Daniel Alvarez (wife Dana) and Angela Alvarez Parker, both of Canton, Jet Thornton, Easton Rowell and Hanna Rowell, all of Waycross, Ashlee Todd (husband Tyler), Baxley, Jamison O’Steen (fiancé Clowee Davis), Patterson, and Conner Selph and Griffin Selph, both of Hoboken; eight great-grandchildren, Ivy Parker, Hadley Parker, Payton Parker, Joshua Parker, Silas Alvarez, Jada Sironen, Phoenix Thornton and Lainey Kate Todd; brother-in-law, Robert Harris (wife Rhonda), Patterson and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the funeral home.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Oakland Cemetery in Waycross.
