Blackshear Elementary Assistant Principal LeAnne Dixon has resigned.
The board of education voted to accept Dixon’s resignation at their monthly work session Thursday morning, Feb. 2.
Dixon says she has felt a calling to step away from her career to focus on her family.
“I’ve felt a calling to step away so I can invest more time in and with my three beautiful children before they’re grown and out on their own. My passion has always been serving others and I’ve been called to serve my family as a priority the next phase of my life. I don’t fully know what God has in store for me in the future, but for now, I’m excited for this next chapter and new journey,” Dixon sad.
Dixon has served in the assistant principal’s role at BES for the past four years as part of an 18 year career in education.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time serving the students, parents and tax payers of Pierce County. My work family has become an extension of my personal family and that’s not something everyone can say about their colleagues,” said Dixon. “I’ve learned so much in my time serving in the Pierce County School System and wouldn’t trade the time or relationships I have spent here for anything.”
Dixon also served as math instructional coach at the school and spent the bulk of her teaching career as a math teacher at Pierce County High School.
