Doris Taylor Johnson, 86, transitioned Thursday, January 5, 2023, at a care facility in Waycross.
She was a daughter of the late Herbert (Dorothy) Taylor and Reatha Sanders. Family and friends will miss her.
She was born in Statenville, but lived in Waycross. She attended Center High School.
She was united in marriage to the late Lloyd Johnson and the joining of the two resulted in five beautiful children.
She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, cooking and being a homemaker. She loved her children and family.
Her children, family, and friends will forever cherish her life.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Herbert (Essie) Taylor, Willie B. (Pearlie Mae) Taylor, Clifford James (Virgil) Taylor, James Herbert Taylor, and Joe Lewis Taylor and a sister, Virgil Lee Taylor.
Those who are left to mourn are her children, Barbara Ann Johnson, Willie Lee (Cindy) Johnson, Alphonso Johnson, Jimmy Lee Johnson and Lloyd Johnson Jr.; sisters, Reatha Mae (Napoleon) Williams, Lillie Mae (Talmadge) Washington and Jeanette (Aaron) Legrear; brothers, Richard (Louisa) Taylor, George (Elizabeth) Taylor, Junior Herbert Taylor, Clarence (Marie) Taylor and Clinton Newberry; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home, 505 Ware Street, Blackshear.
Graveside funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 10, from the Hoboken City Cemetery, Raybon Rock Road, Hoboken.
