Mary Lou Brooks Sapp, 75, of Blackshear, passed away early Saturday morning, January 21, 2023, at her residence, following an extended illness.
Born August 25, 1947, in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late Horace H. and Estelle Francis Wilson Brooks. She lived all her life in Pierce County and obtained her cosmetology license. She had worked at multiple factories in the area, including the Reuben Brothers Shoe Factory but had spent many years as a self-employed cosmetologist. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lloyd Sapp; three grandchildren, Skyler Crews, Megan Kauffman and Corrie Kauffman and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki Kauffman and Tammy Anderson, both of Blackshear; five grandchildren, Kaylyn Price, Ciera Moseley (husband Josh), Lindsey Smith (husband Caleb), Nikki Allen and Sean Kauffman, all of Blackshear; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sylvia Nell Fontaine, Suches; two brothers, Charles Brooks and Jackie Brooks, both of Blackshear and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Ben James Cemetery.
