The second annual “Battle of the Boards” will be held Friday, Feb. 10 at the Blackshear Train Depot.
Better Hometown Blackshear will host the event from 6-8 p.m. Competition entry fee is $25 per team. General admission is $5.
Cash prizes will be awarded.
Awards include overall best of boards in each category, people’s choice, tastiest and most creative.
Charcuterie boards have gained popularity in recent years and is bascially a serving board used to display meats, cheeses and other foods.
Boards cannot exceed 24” in diameter or three ft. by 2 ft. They may be irregularly shaped. A single, six-foot long table will be provided and may be decorated accordingly.
The “Battle of the Boards” will feature two competition categories, including a professional division representing food service, commercial or retail establishments and an “enthusiasts” division featuring members of the general public who wish to create a charcuterie board.
