Mary Elizabeth Pearson

Mary Elizabeth Pearson, 57, of Hoboken, passed away Tuesday evening, December 19, 2012, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following an illness.

Born October 10, 1955 Waycross, she had lived all of her life in Brantley County. In 1973, she became employed at the Animal Hospital in Waycross with Dr. A. K. Robinson and continued as an office manager with the present Satilla Animal Hospital working for Dr. Tinker Blount. She enjoyed reading and cross-stitching and was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Everette “Bud” Pearson and an infant brother, Ricky Pearson.

Survivors include her husband, Michael David Cannon, Waycross; her mother, Gussie Lee Dowling Pearson, Hoboken; a sister, Shelia Vickers (husband Thomas), Hoboken; two nieces, Erin Elizabeth Lee (husband Josh) and Ana Leigh Vickers; one great-niece, Gracie Vickers; two special family friends, Donna Bell and Lisa Thrift and several other relatives.


Visitation will take place from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, from the chapel of Pearson-Dial Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the High Bluff Cemetery in Brantley County.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Angel Tree Fund, PO Box 704, Waycross, GA 31502.

The family requests that the doctors and staff at Satilla Animal Hospital serve as honorary pallbearers. They are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Friday.
